The author, William Lashner, is a former trial attorney with the criminal division of the Department of Justice.  He’s also a graduate of the University of Iowa’s Writer’s Workshop – and it shows.   

 

This book reads like breeze and grabs you from page one.  Lashner’s style is smooth and engaging.  The story itself is written with flair and is evenly paced.  It’s a familiar tale, but one that seems fresh with the skill of a wonderful storyteller.

 

Boy meets girl, boy loses girl, girl comes back into boy’s life and all hell breaks loose.  That’s really all you need to know.

 

I liked this book right up to the ending.  I won’t ruin it for you – but I personally wasn’t satisfied.  Then again, I’m old fashioned.
