Yes, I know that this book has been around for a few years (the hardback edition came out in 2005). I’m late on reading it – just like I’m late on getting a jump on my retirement. But, I was hoping that the plan proposed by David Back would be effective even for an old duffer like me.
Luckily, it was.
This easy-to-read book is filled with simply ideas about spending less, saving more, making more and living rich even if you start late. While most of the ideas are not novel, they were easy to understand and simple to implement.
Under spending less, for example, Bach has a chapter called “Find Your Double Latte Factor.” The idea is that even small things add up. Here he points out that deciding not to spend just $5.00 a day on coffee, a muffin or juice can add up to … well, in the book’s example a 23-year old deciding not to spend $5.00 a day and instead putting the money in a retirement account would have at the age of 65: $1.2 million.
Yikes! That makes you think – doesn’t it?
The book is filled with practical ideas that you can implement immediately. So whether you’re looking to save more, get out of debt, or make more money, this book is sure to give you plenty of options.
