I’d say the Boston Globe is being kind when it writes about last night’s Red Sox defeat by the Anglels. Here’s the headline:
Sox A Bit Lacking in Game 1
Duh.
Losing game 1 of the American League Division Series with Jon Lester pitching against the Angels hurt. Opening the series with our ace getting handed a big loss is not what Boston hoped for. And it wasn’t that the Sox were “a bit lacking” as the Globe so politely put it: they simply couldn’t hit … again.
No offense, but we’ve seen it before. Several times during the regular season — and often against top teams (hello Yankees), the Red Sox bats go quiet.
So what did the Sox bats do last night? Four singles. Four. Singles.
I don’t care who you have pitching: try winning a lot of games with those numbers.
So is the series over? Of course not. But the Sox need to improve their hitting and fast if they want to squeek by the Angels.

wow...nice they looking at the World Series..!!!
