The Portland Press Herald has the Patriots headline from yesterday reading:
To which I wholeheartedly respond: Yes, lots of it.
With just 3:36 left in the game, the Pats were 4th and 5 and Brady turned to Belichick and yelled something to the effect of "Let's go for it." The coach shook his head and the Pats punted.
I was yelling, "no, no -- go for it!" The Cowboys had held Brady to one touchdown and were up 3 points and time was clearly running out. The Pats -- last in the league in defense -- had to hold the Cowboys so they didn't run out the clock. It was madness -- what was Belichick thinking?
Then the Pats defense stood tall and the Cowboys were three and out and Brady had the ball on the 20 with 2:21 on the clock. Sure enough, he passed all the way to the endzone hitting Hernandez with 22 seconds left and completing a thrilling come-from-behind win.
Belichick was right -- I was wrong.
Hail to the coach.
