You’ve heard of a pre-nuptial agreement, right? But have you ever heard of a post-nuptial agreement?
Unlike a pre-nup, a post-nup agreement is signed by married couples during the marriage and it typically deals with how the parties manage their finances, assets, children or any other matter if they later divorce or if one of them dies.
The Washington Post has an informative article about it here. I have yet to run into one in Maine, but it seems to be something that would be appropriate in certain circumstances.
Is it anything you’d consider?
