First they raise their rates in a way that infuriates millions and customers who then bail in droves.
Next I get an email from Reed Hastings, co-founder and CEO of Netflix, apologizing for their clumsy rate increase without telling customers why it was necessary.
In this apology, Hastings now says that Netflix is just too big to stay as one company that both ships DVDs, and allows the streaming of movies. So they're breaking up the company (even if in name only): Quikster will take over the DVD distribution, while the original Netflix name will remain on movie downloads.
But, get this. The two will be on different sites! If you subscribe to both, you'll need to go to both websites to browse DVDs and check your downloads. They'll also be two distinct charges on your credit card instead of one.
That's progress? That's easier for the customer?
Duh — I think not.
Gee, I get Time Warner Cable at home it composed of three separate services: the TV, the Internet, and my phone. They didn't need to create 3 entities to do it, or charge three separate fees.
So what's up with Netflix? Are they just incompetent or what?
Rate this as another fumble for this company.
You got a point there. Thanks for this post. keep up the good work

I get Time Warner Wire television at house it consisting of three individual services: the TV, the Web, and my cellphone. They didn't need to make 3 agencies to do it, or cost three individual charges.
