Once again, DeMille delivers on a rousing adventure complete with nerve-wracking suspense, intricate plotting and interspersed with hilarious scenes. For DeMille fans (count me in), this novel is his highly anticipated follow up to THE LION’S GAME. If you haven’t yet read THE LION’S GAME, go pick up a cheap paperback version and enjoy yourself knowing that a sequel waits.
Without telling too much about the earlier book, this novel has Asad Khalil – better known by his terrorist name The Lion – returning to the
Khalil is described as the perfect killing machine. He’s intelligent, vicious, dedicated and deadly to all those he comes in contact with. He has a mission to kill as many Americans as possible. Corey and Mayfield must stop him.
One of the most delightful aspects of this novel is the irreverence of Corey: he’s a delight to read. Despite his job of protecting
In the opening scene, Corey is on a stakeout in
Speaking of FBI and challenges, my driver today is FBI Special Agent Lisa Sims, right out of
Later, when they are following the target in their vehicle with Sims driving, Corey describes what he sees.
She threw the SUV into gear and off we went, threading out way through heavy traffic.
The Iranian chauffeur, who I think I’ve followed before, was an erratic driver, and I couldn’t tell if he was driving like that to lose a tail or if he was just a really bad driver. Like the last thing he drove was a camel.
Meanwhile, Special Agent Sims had her chin over the steering wheel between white knuckles, and her right foot was moving from the brakes to the accelerator like she had restless leg syndrome.
This book is pure entertainment, a page-turner that will leave you reading up late into the night. DeMille’s talent as a writer will keep you glued to the story, desperately wanting to find out how it ends and while enjoying every second of the journey. Don’t miss this summer block buster. It’s more than a home run – it’s a grand slam.

That book seems brilliant, i tend to stick to the holy trinity of espionage writers but you have inmspired me to look at new authors. I think ill start with this one.

Instead of Demille’s tired sequel The Lion, read a book similar to the Lion’s Game revolving around a detective uncovering a 9/11 conspiracy, instead of TWA flight #800. It’s a new release called “America Deceived II” by E.A. Blayre III. The 9/11 chapter brings you back to that time vividly as the detective plot unfolds.
